The problems at Sheffield O just don't go away. The association just kicked out Frank Bonaro from the presidents position and installed a new President . This was all manipulated by Donald Kelly, the notorious owner of most of the units in the building, Kelly threatened tenants with termination of the association and forced eviction of the remaining residents in a plan to take over the building and convert it to short term vacation rentals. There is a lawsuit crawling through the courts. The Levy family and some of the residents are claiming Kelly is continually contravening the bylaws, and making their lives a living hell. There are some owners supporting Kelly, apparently because they want to rent their units too.
There's talk of starting the job of repairing the crappy paving job. There is an ongoing five million dollar lawsuit against David Israel and M&M , who did the repaving a couple of years ago. Now CV residents are faced with paying to do the repairs when M&M should have done it before they got paid. Besides all that ; repairs are just a band aid to a bigger problem. Engineering reports that were ignored by UCO clearly say that there is a lot of work that should be done preparing the roadbed and the drainage before repaving is started. Patching up problem ares is not going to solve the problems.
There's going to be a vote pretty soon on a cable TV provider. The choices are either Comcast or Atlantic Broadband. The final decision is up to the residents who will make their wishes known through the delegates. The imposition of mandatory WIFI was squashed when The Messengers apprised Comcast of UCO's intention to support a bid by Atlantic Broadband , which contained a mandatory inclusion of internet services with the additional fees. That idea was shot down when Comcast offered the option of internet or not. Atlantic quickly amended their proposal to offer the same option. The messenger Club would like to thank the hundreds of residents who signed the "SAY NO TO WIFI " petition.
